Modelling content

Content entries

With models and media in place, entries are the actual content: one product, one category page, one campaign banner.

Creating an entry

  1. Go to Content in the sidebar Check the space selector at the top first — entries belong to whichever space you are in.
  2. Click New and choose a model For example Product. The editor renders the fields you defined on that model.
  3. Fill in the fields Type copy, pick imagery from the media picker, link a category with the relation picker.
  4. Click Save The entry is saved as a Draft. It is not visible through the API until you publish it.

Draft by default is deliberate. Nothing you type can reach the live storefront by accident. Merchandisers can build a whole seasonal range over a fortnight and publish it in one go.

The pickers

Media and relation fields open a picker rather than expecting you to know an ID.

Media picker

Browse the library as thumbnails. Choose one file, or several for a gallery — selection order is preserved.

Relation picker

Search other entries and link to them. Used for categories, collections, authors and related products.

Relations are references, not copies. Rename a category and every product pointing at it reflects the change immediately — no bulk edit required.

Working at catalogue scale

A few habits that pay off once you are past a hundred entries.

  • Build one entry properly first. Get a single product exactly right, confirm it renders on your storefront, then produce the rest against that template.
  • Create referenced entries first. Categories and collections need to exist before products can link to them.
  • Use the import tool for bulk loads. Typing in a thousand products by hand is not the intended workflow — see the migration guide.
  • Give Authors the Author role. They can draft freely but cannot publish, which is exactly what you want during a busy season.
  • Check the space before a bulk edit. Spaces are isolated, and it is easy to spend an afternoon updating the wrong brand.
